Going to be an very interesting final 22 Pac12 games.

Tough Loss....but this may have been a good loss in several ways: It forces the Beavs to step up on a Sunday for the first time this season...and maybe find a Sunday Starting P arm...and some robust Sunday bats. It highlights a 'glitch' that otherwise super Freshman RHP Kmatz has shown - he gives up the long ball a little too often...Something to work on (4 HR in 28 innings - not extreme, but if he improves in this regard he'll be the Friday Starter next season, and the next)...Something to strive for: Hjerpe - 2 HR in 33 IP).
It eliminates (for now) the thought that Carpenter is the answer at Closer. But presents the question: who is the man??

It happens. I love how people on this board expect perfection from our players in every outing. It doesn’t happen. Even the best closers have bad outings.

It was just 6 days ago that this happened vs. ASU: 1/3 inning. 2 hits. 2 BB. 23 pitches. 3 Earned Runs. That's NOT "one bad pitch".

Seems fto be a reoccurring problem with the pen, the confidence level for a win on ANY Sunday has to be rock bottom, especially after laying a rotten egg today, this weekend may very well be forgettable...

I guess he should pack his bags and head to the Madagascar league.

What it does mean is that Canham and Dorman need to, and I trust they WILL, continue to evaluate the staff and come up with appropriate roles for the pitchers. We may see the latest result of that process tomorrow at about 12:15 when a Sunday starter takes the mound for the Beavs. The season is still young and roles are being determined. Madagascar WTF ?
