Anyone else remember those Stanford preseason rankings? I didn't believe it then and here we are... 2nd week of Pac 12 play and they have been exposed.

I think we are about 10-15 right now. Top tier offense, very good defense, above average starting pitching, and average bullpen. If we can identify who is ready to contribute from the bullpen, and they can step their game up before the post season, we could get to Omaha, but I think this is a super regional type team right now, and that ain't bad.

We have a great offense, but Omaha is all about the pitchers. Hjerpe and Matz are good, and hopefully we get Pfennigs back. I like a lot of our middle relief (Lattery, Ferrer and Brown were lights out on Sunday, especially Ferrer!), but if we can't find a Closer we won't be making any noise in Omaha, might not get there at all. We wont be winning games 21-0 (no closer needed) come playoff time!

Between them: 26 IP, 32 SO, 7 BB, 15 H and 4 earned runs. Just for the visual pleasure of it, would love to see Hunter Cope (7') surprise us all to become the closer by June. Summer teammate in 2021 of Ryan Brown (Medford) - he pitched 3 one-inning stints for the Rogues. In 3 innings he Struck Out 9 (walked 4, 2 hits, 0 ER).

Well it’s all about getting hot at the right time in getting to Omaha .....I’m not counting Stanford out anytime soon. Beavs have a decent shot but we definitely need a good closer to get there. Getting Pfennigs back will be a big piece to the puzzle

They would be awesome to see live.

Did you see how Arizona ended game one of their series with Stanford for a W? The season's still a baby so a lot can and probably will change. At present, losing to UA on the road is not grounds for dismissing a team as exposed in my opinion. pac-12.com/videos/walk-cannon-no-16-arizonas-mac-bingham-guns-down-runner-plate-final-out-vs-no-12-stanfordWhile different in many ways, the are several similarities in the above play to Conforto's ground ball and gun to home vs Oregon for the game ending out at the plate.

Our offense carried us to the final game.

Cope is not on roster or team this year, just like Mundt Cope is not on the team for a very different reason. Mundt is hurt and Cope was told to leave.

It was posted here last week - "Cope got into a physical altercation with a member of the coaching staff and is no longer with the team"
