Already thinking of next year- thoughts? 125 - Kaylor 133 - Enriquez/Shaner 141- Willits - If he returns - if not Gurr?? 149 - Lara 157 - Willits or Crosby if he does not return 165 - Olguin 174 - Olmos or Reiniche 184 - Munoz 197 - Harvey - Reyes finally gets a RS 285 - Hastriter - Does Dixon move up? Transfer?
If the Willits come back we have 3 returning AA. I think we could have 5 at the NCAA next year. Of course if we wrestle and improve like we did this year it could be more.
PS - Give the coaching staff a new contract !!! Do whatever it takes to keep them.

Seems reasonable to me...
Gurr has been exclusively at 149 last two years (I think?), so I'm curious if he can still get down to 141. Next year would be year 6 for Olmos correct? Do we know for sure that he's back?
Otherwise, heavyweight and 133 are still iffy IMO. I think the 133 guys are capable, just need to keep improving.

Somewhere out there there's a heavyweight from Lock Haven, Edinboro, or some other small school who might want to come out west for a new experience under a great coaching staff, and with the one-time transfer exception he can do so without penalty.
That's a big part of recruiting these days.

Other guy I'm keeping my eye on/have added to the wishlist is Sean Harman at Missouri. From West Linn, he's stuck behind Peyton Mocco who is still a soph (lost in blood round). at 165 he'd be stuck behind Keegan O'Toole who won NC at 165.
Harman went 20-7 this year, beat Dustin Plott who won B12 tourney. Would be a big time add if by chance he got homesick or left in search of a starting spot.

In a zoom meeting before the pac 12 Olmos said he was back one more year.
Would love to see Hartman back in Oregon. He looked very good stepping in for Mocco earlier this year. Orndorff is a grad this coming year. tOSU has Feldman coming in. Fans believe he could beat out Orndorff. Wouldn’t mind seeing him transfer in for one year. Would be a good story and also give Hastriter one more year to develop.
Shaner and Enriquez would be fine at 133 - but this staff seems to be fine bringing in other guys. The NCAA helped recruiting a ton - as well as a transfer destination

Speaking of 165, I would love to see Wittlake return home for his senior year. Probably zero chance, but the highest regarded Oregon wrestler in many years hasn’t reached his lofty projections at Oklahoma State. He was injured this season and the injuries crushed his season. He did spend a lot of the covid shutdown time working out in the Willamette Valley so the ties to home are still present. Anyway, I hope Wittlake has a great senior season—I would just love to see it in a different orange and black.

Pretty sure OSU we weren't even a blip on his radar at the time, but a new staff/being closer to home could certainly be a difference maker at this point. He's definitely a country boy through and through and Stillwater probably a good fit in that regards.

I think, from reading articles as well as between the lines, that the downward trend for some of the Oregon State, high profile recruits crushed that idea.

Yeah the energy around the program at the time really was an issue + he was pretty outspoken about olympic dreams and having a school with an elite RTC was a big draw.

Do you remember the local news story they did on Wittlake in about 6th grade? He was all about his dream of being a Beaver. It’s probably out there somewhere. Grad transfer wouldn’t be out of the question. Training with IMAR may be a lure.
