JM and KB in 40 combined minutes: 27 points 17 boards 5 assists 5 steals and 2 blocks. Considering Mitrovic had 11 points and 13 rebounds in just 15 minutes, it’s a little surprising she wasn’t in there longer. Great production inside regardless. Be sorta fun to see them play at the same time. Maybe not good, but interesting lol

I don't think hosting in the WNIT has anything to do w/ records or metrics, I think they go with who projects to sell more tickets most of the time. I was curious as well. A dated Wikipedia post says something about schools being able to "bid" to host as the tournament is a "for profit" event. I don't care, VERY happy for another game with this team in Gill.
On another note- Beavs played A LOT of zone tonight. Successful too. Is it considered to be higher or lower energy output from a zone defense? Just curious.

Depends on where you are in the zone. But as general rule you can expend less energy playing zone D. Exception would be either “1” in a 1-3-1. Depends on how the offense is attacking and if you’re in a sagging zone.

Maybe not good, but interesting lol It was especially impressive as Portland has one of the better mid-major front courts in Fowler and Cochrane (who leads the NCAA in blocks per game). Cochrane was being recruited by OSU at one point, but I'd assume Scott prioritized Taylor, Jelena, and Kennedy ahead of her.

Season coming to a close and our posts are finally getting it figured out. Offense, defense and passing have all improved.
Rueck sending in waves of players reminds me of CTT. Seems to have worked though as they weren't standing around waiting for TVO to do something.
Taya had a couple of open looks in the beginning and wouldn't take them. And then she decided, might as well.
The team is playing great right now but Taya and Mack are an important part of this and ...sigh. They will be sorely missed.

We talked about this in another thread just the other day, but if Kennedy could shoot like she has the past two games (5-8 against beach, 8-12 against Portland) it would make a significant difference in her game and the Beavs win/loss totals.

UNM drew 3,055 for Sunday's game, more than we did. I suspect we lost several hundred because of the baseball game, people didn't want to make it a 7-hour day. We probably just outbid them.

If the Beavs are going to keep winning in the NIT, Ellie and Taya are most likely going to need to provide offense. I would have loved to see the young players, Greta or AJ bring the points, but it is very encouraging to see Kennedy (two years left) and Jelena (three years if she wants them) coming up big. There has been some nice moments for AJ and Greta as well. You never know what is going to happen in the off season now that the transferring is so easy, but this team should be much improved next season.

This sequence was just nice, but I can't think of the right term for Talia's pass...touch or ?
and this was sweet:

Talia's pass was between a touch pass and a redirection, that was a very fast move.
There were a bunch of highlights for the Beavs the last couple games, makes me wonder what it would be like playing 2 games a week for a season.
Talia's early 3 was way out there, we are talking Jerry West range. I bet she and Aleah had some impressive shoot arounds.

Several season seat holders (including me) that I know had difficulty ordering their tickets for one or both games. When I had trouble Saturday morning, the ticket office was, of course, closed - wouldn't want to have a body or two in there to sell a ticket for an event the next day just in case someone wanted to buy one. Then, the tickets had a face value of $14, but, after the ticket office added on two different fees, they were $20 each. So, I'm sure you're right that the baseball game took away a pretty good number, but the OSU ticket office did their part to hold attendance down. It was a boisterous 2,000 though, reminiscent of better times. The team gave them something to cheer for today, and cheer they did. Will I do my part to fill Gill on Thursday? A lot of that answer depends on the OSU ticket office.

That last video with Mack and Brown's interior passing is what I imagined we'd see a lot of from Brown and Jones throughout their careers. Hopefully, that's still to come.

Will OSU get to host a 3rd game? AJ is VERY talented. It seems like we are getting bits and pieces of her skills on display, and maybe it's just timing or opportunities, but sometime soon hopefully she will cut loose...
