This will draw out the local Lorax to save the trees.

Any Corvallis folk know if there's ever been a train/car or train/bike-pedestrian crossing accident along that stretch of shared roadway? I can't recall one, but with all of that close proximity I'd be kind of surprised if there haven't been some over the years. Especially on Friday-Saturday nights, if you know what I mean.

There’s been two robot delivery deaths in the past 6 months. No pedestrian deaths that I’m aware of. There was one at the 6th street crossing not too long ago.

I also think the railroad wants OSU to move the street out of railroad ROW. Wasn’t that part of the reason behind the rebuilt intersection at 15th St.

The railroad wants the change and it owns the right away a certain distance from the track.

IIRC, there was an accident back in the mid 80's with a guy trying to hop on the train to the coast (not the only person to do it). He skipped and fell onto the tracks where the train ran over his legs. He happened to be either an emt or working towards being one. He was giving instructions to bystanders.

Parked there by the tennis courts for two years back in the day. Sad to think it will be gone.
