Went to the Corvallis Knights last home game of the regular season, and Kyle Nobach, Andy Attwood and Zack Taylor are leading the Knights, and rank as three of the top 6 in batting in the league. Kyle hit a towering home run last night and the trio combined for 5 of the 15 Knights hits. They face the Yakima Pippins at home next Wednesday to open the playoffs.

Watched incoming freshman George Mendezona many games this summer with WCL Bend Elks. Essentially a HS kid playing against college players. His bat looked real good. Good extra base power, good situational and clutch hitting. His infield defense was a notch below Grenier and Madrigal last year, who as incoming freshman played in the same college summer league. But then again, both of them are ++ fielders. Also noted that this summer Grenier fielded up a storm, again (based on links to some Cape Cod area articles that I read). His bat started very slowly (0 for his first 6 or so games) but picked up a bit. His CCL league team is currently advancing through the CCL playoffs and he's stepped up, batting .348 so far in 6 playoff games, with several xBase hits.
