Will the 2022 PAC-12 conference champions be determined by the best overall record or by the winner of the tournament? By conference champion I mean the team who will fly the banner in their stadium the following year and be bequeathed all claims to fame therein.
How many teams will play in the PAC-12 tournament?

If it is like basketball, the Pac 12 Champ is the regular season champ. The tournament winner is the conference tournament champ and gets the automatic bid. This is contrary to the basketball shirts that came out last year that said we were Pac 12 Champs. It should have been Pac 12 Tournament Champs. |

Except for the nomenclature, this is what I have heard. 8 teams in. Winner gets an invite. So one would assume it works like basketball. Pac 12 Champs is the team in first before the tournament. Pac 12 Tourney Champs is literally that...the tournament champion. I can't say that I'm fond of the addition. Just more chances to wear out pitchers before the real tournament begins, which we all know can be draining. |

Winner of the Pac-12 tourney gets the NCAA invite....don't think there are any "banner police" so good chance 2 banners go up next season if we decide not to be greedy and win both....

The Pac-12 announced the creation of a Conference championship event for baseball in partnership with the City of Scottsdale and The Arizona Sports & Entertainment Commission. The inaugural Pac-12 Baseball Tournament is scheduled for May 25-29, 2022 at Scottsdale Stadium.
The double-elimination tournament will be spread over five days at the Spring Training home of the San Francisco Giants. The top eight teams in the Conference standings at the conclusion of the regular season will earn berths in the Pac-12 Baseball Tournament, from which the champion will receive the Conference’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
