Have not seen any reports that Beavers have been in contact with any of these, nor have I seen them play. Just thought they were interesting potential transfers in based mainly on location:
Callus McRae — not sure whether Beav’s are in market for a big, but we do know how WT likes his post players. I believe the 7-footer from UC-Riverside via New Zealand would have 2 years eligibility. Averaged 10.8 ppg, 7.9 rpg and 2.4 apg this year. Did OK against some of the better teams UC-R played this year. 13 pts, 4 rebs, 1 assist versus San Diego St., 5-10-3 versus ASU, 4-10-0 vs UTEP and 12-3-1 against the Ducks. Averaged 30 mpg, so seems unlikely he’d come here in what would seem to be a backup role unless just really wants to add to his resume for potential overseas career.
Robby Beasley — averaged double figures both years at Montana. Just from looking at stats, doesn’t appear the 6-3 guard excels at any one thing. Montana played 2 P5 teams this year — Miss St and Oregon — and Beasley did not do well against either.
Keshawn Barthelemy — Not sure why he’s leaving Colorado nor why he’d move down in the Pac 12 standings and come here. But what the heck. Averaged 11 points and 2.5 assists this year while starting all but 5 games.

Saw a couple UCR games this year. Silva two years ago is very similar to McRae.

Wouldn’t exactly be an earth-shattering pickup, but definitely fills a need. As things stand now, Beavs have one open spot. Having at least one more transfer out (or maybe two) wouldn’t be a bad thing — as long as it’s the right guy(s) leaving. Beavs need a shooter (preferably at the 2G), and a wing who can get his own shot. Problem is can they get quality out of the portal. I would assume any open spots would be filled transfers unless a very good prep wants to come. Getting more than 5 freshmen acclimated to college game is not ideal, especially in the transfer portal age when you can expect to lose 2-3 players a year.

Beavers have reportedly been in contact with:
Mardrez McBride — 6-2 guard is a grad transfer (I believe) from North Texas. Averaged 11.3 ppg, 3 rpg and 1.1 apg while shooting 39% from 3. He had 4 points, 4 rebs and 2 assists against Kansas and 6, 2 and 7 against Miami early in year. He averaged 22.5 ppg in North Texas’ two NIT games. Also averaged 13.5 ppg in NCAA tourney last year including 16 points in North Texas’ upset of Purdue in first round. Reportedly Georgia, Mississippi State, Cincinnati, Penn State, SMU, Buffalo, and Nevada have been in contact also. Seems like he’d be a decent addition

Probably not going to Mississippi State now that Davis is.

Probably not going to Mississippi State now that Davis is. Seems like more of a combo than PG, so Davis signing might not impact him (have no idea what their roster is like). But I thought the same thing. He’s originally from GA, so Bulldogs might have edge. But plenty of playing available with Beavs.

Couple more guys with West Coast ties that entered the transfer portal: Nic Lynch — Not sure Beavers would even want as Pac 12 might be a stretch for him. The 6-11, 250 pound Lehigh grad transfer did go to high school at Seattle Prep. Only averaged 9.7 ppg and 4.4 rpg this season, and he’s not a rim protector. But he did expand his game this year to include the 3, making 28 while shooting 45.9%. He had much better stats last half of the season, including a 30 point game on 5-8 from 3. Joe Quintana — Loyola Marymount grad transfer would seem like a more likely candidate than Lynch. The 6-2 guard averaged 13.1 ppg and shot 43% from 3 over the past two seasons. He has 12 games this season with 3 or more 3 pointers, including 8 in their opening round win in conference tournament. He finished that game with 31 points, 2 rebs, 3 assists and 3 steals. If Lucas decides to move on, could be a decent replacement. Again, haven’t seen these guys play and have no idea about any kind of interest from them or Beavers. Quintana signs with California Baptist.

Another player Beavers have reportedly reached out to:
Rudi Williams:; 6-2 guard from Coastal Carolina, who I believe would be a grad transfer. Just looking at his stats, I’d say, yes please. Averaged 14.7 ppg, 4.2 rpg and 3.2 apg this year. Even better is that he shot 50.9% overall and 44.7 from 3. Also had 1.5 spg and only 1.5 fouls per game. He 19 points, 3 rebounds and 6 assists in CC’s upset over South Carolina and 30, 10 and 2 in win over 23-9 Winthrop. Not surprisingly, he has had plenty of interest since entering portal with Butler, South Carolina, Wichita State, BYU, Georgia, Florida, UCF, Memphis, Cal, Georgetown and San Francisco reaching out.

So you're saying we have no chance from that list?? I know WT needs immediate help, but he also needs some sustainable talent that will be here at least 2 seasons.

Reaching out doesn’t always equal real interest such as that school would take him right now if he wanted to commit — especially with the bigger and better schools. I’ve seen Illinois as reaching out to at least a half dozen transfers (including Lucas and Warren Washington), but they have really been concentrating on just 2 (one of which just chose G’town). From what I’ve heard Lucas is still a possibility if they don’t get their other priority, but probably only maybe a 20% chance or less he ends up an Illini. So chances aren’t great Beavers get this kid, but you never know. As to guys with more eligibility, I agree to an extent. I think as it stands now Beavs have two open scholarships. I’d like to see one of those go to transfer with multiple years left (preferably a scorer/shooter), but fine with a PG grad transfer.

We could only hope that you were actually “holding your breath” Not to confident that will happen.
