A high school freshmen was the state of Oregons pick for Gatordae POY, Jazzy Davidson. All 50 state selections were announced but National POY won't be decided until later if I understood correctly. Jazzy is being heavily recruited at this point by most of the P-12.

It might also indicate that the state is not a hot bed for high players although Stanford has mined a few good ones from here

I understand Jazzy is pretty set on Stanford. Not official at this point, but it will take alot to pull her away. She will go thru the process and I am sure we will get a fair shot. But a longshot.

I don't think Stanford can actually offer anyone this early in their academic career. They can certainly let it be known they are interested. But my understanding is they can't officially offer until the recruit has cleared admissions, and obviously a Fr. can't do that.

I don’t believe that is the case as Tara has already offered at least two 2025 recruits - Jazzy Davidson and Siena Betts.

Quite a few of these have picked Pac 12 schools. I count at least 8.

I don't think there's a sliding scale for athletes at Stanford, they have to qualify for admissions the same as anyone else. A Freshman would barely have any credits yet and obviously no SAT/ACT scores, so nowhere near knowing if they would be a likely candidate or not.

Not true. Stanford athletics gets some exceptions for athletes, just like other schools; athletes are given color-coded envelopes to direct their applications a certain way in admissions (or at least they were in the recent past). Their standards may be higher, but not every Stanford athlete would be admitted otherwise.

That is exactly the same for every other college in the country. They are all "conditional" pending actual qualification for admissions.

Fine, you guys win. Stanford is an easy school to get into. You good at sports, you come play here, no problem. Just like the SEC.

As a wag, not more than three guys on the roster (football) would have been admitted if they did not play football. Saying that, I'm sure they are all good students and every one would be admitted to OSU without a sports background.
