Apparently you don't even need a .500 record to get an AL berth in the NIT....Minnesota is in with a 14-17 record!

I was amused by this headline from Oregon live "Oregon State, snubbed by NCAAs, lands a berth in 64-team WNIT" Snubbed? Everyone who was paying attention knew they were not an NCAA tourney team. Hmmm, so Incarnate, ranked 408th and with a losing record against teams with none ranked in the top 150, deserved to play in the NCAA tourney but certainly NOT the Beav's? The Beav's are ranked 53rd in the NET rankings and 37th in Massey. With 68 teams playing in the tourney how do you justify your contempt for the Beav's such that you sneer at the thought that they might deserve to join the dance? It's called win your conference tournament for an auto berth. Pretty simple concept and it's been around awhile. In fact a team we all know utilized that option recently.

Notice only you were quoted. Notice you questioned why such a lowly rated team was in the tourney and not OSU. Now speaking of interesting comments. Do you read your own?

"interesting comments" Why thank you. Appreciate you saying so. Oh, taking things out of context makes them meaningless? Why yes they do. So don't do it.

There's so much more to the consideration than record. The Beavs were definitely on the bubble and not some outlier with zero chance. Strength of schedule, ELO, net rating.

Incarnate Word won four consecutive games over four days to win its conference tournament, and an automatic berth. So yes, by the NCAA's qualification requirements, Incarnate Word does deserve to play in the tournament. We didn't win our conference tournament. We didn't win enough games overall, and enough games against good competition, to merit an at-large berth. So yes, we did not deserve to be in the NCAA tournament.
