This got me thinking, who is the most successful WNBA player from OSU ever? I don't know if anyone other than Syd and Felecia Ragland has even played a full WNBA season.

Marie played a full season in 2019 with Atlanta www.wnba.com/player/marie-gulich/Marie played ant least two complete seasons before she was picked up by LA. she played one season her rookie year i believe it was Phoenix) and another season for the team she was traded to the next season.

Wiese might be the long lived WNBA player out of OSU. She played in 117 games over parts of 5 seasons. Ragland 72 games over 4 seasons. Gulich 66 games over 3 seasons.
It's a pretty tough gig landing a long term roster spot in the WNBA. Even relatively high 1st round picks often don't last but a season or two before getting waived.

According to the link I helpfully provided, Marie played in all or part of 3 seasons for 3 teams. Phoenix, Atlanta and LA.

That's too bad. I loved watching Syd play. another reason the WNBA needs to be expanded to let more players enter the league and stay longer.

It is kind of surprising that as good of teams as OSU has had the past 10 seasons that we have never produced anything more than role players in the WNBA. Shows how tough that league is.

She seemed to have really found a nice role w/ the Sparks her last season there...then ended up with Washington, where she definitely didn't thrive. Too bad.

Assistant coach/recruiter... Only if she changed her mind. All through college she said she ultimately wanted to be an announcer.
