Taking into account all that has been pointed out above my "honest" opinion is that we'll have about a 40% chance to win this game with the determining factor being our inability to score enough against ASU's tough defense. But I'm hoping someone gets hot and carries us to victory and gets the team in a better frame of mind heading into the NIT.

We lost by 10. We were down by 2 when the game was effectively over and the rest was ASU free throws. So we were in that game even though we had 19 turnovers and shot 16% from three. ASU is very beatable. 4 points on 2 technicals in the last minute sealed the victory for ASU. In 2019 we lost to ASU with 2 technicals on Rueck also. Ok to stay fired up and angry, but keep your cool coach.

Unleash the von Oehloffen!
Let her go all Caitlin Clark for a game or two: she can pop from 30, before the double team swarms her, and she can zing passes/assists from anywhere.

Massey gives us a 58 percent chance of winning over ASU. Better than I thought.

If we lose to ASU, we're a .500 team that will have lost 3 in a row. Are the NIT standards actually that low? Other than name recognition, I don't see what we bring to the party this year.

One would think we'd be in the NIT field even at .500. If the NCAA takes the "top" 68 teams, OSU would certainly be in the next group of 64 below that. Plus, and perhaps most important, OSU can put butts in the seats for game attendance.

An ASU win, OSU will host. Pac12 team that can get 6k+ fans easily. A loss?? Not sure fan draw will override a late season skid.

I don't think ASU is particularly good, I didn't buy in after their consecutive wins against the Oregon schools and Arizona. The losing streak that followed seemed to justify my opinion. And yet...pretty much the last team I want the Beavers to have to face in Vegas. Always like getting teeth pulled playing against them.

I'm a season ticket holder, but I don't think I'd buy tickets for the NIT.

And of course ticket $ have a huge effect!

I think in reality the Beavers are well within the top 68 teams in the country, but unfortunately that's not how the NCAA Tournament is selected. Should be a shoo-in for the NIT, FWIW.

A combination of always tough defense from Arizona State, and an OSU team that isn't good offensively, and this game scares me a bit. Plus, I'm wondering if this team has a bit of 'quit' in them. I'm hoping not. I'd love to see a little NIT run from this team with a lot of minutes going to players who return next season. A lot of minutes to Jelena, Kennedy, Talia, Greta, and AJ would be perfect.....and add in some time for Ellie, because she is a warrior.
Also, I would hope to make one, or more of the games, if the timing is right.

I don't know if we'd pull 6K. We'd need the university to pony up a bunch of free tickets for the student body. And we'd need COVID guidelines loosened, which they just were today!

The NCAA never takes the top 68 teams. About 15-20 of the automatic qualifiers are not among the top 68 teams in the country.
(I forgot their was now a women's play-in round).

ASU is going to be a tough game, but a win in my opinion is obtainable. Let's go Beavs!
