Everything quiet on him and Frisch...probably will be until they either pitch again or out for the year announced.....also, no extra N for what it's worth....I did notice that Pfennigs was in the front of the high five line at end of game and high fiving with his right hand, so I'm counting that as a good sign

Pfennigs looked more surprised than anyone when the trainer & Dorman came out. Someone sitting near me wondered, with Pfennigs struggling and nobody in the bullpen, if the coaches played the injury card and pulled him, allowing a new pitcher to come in and get to warm up from the mound. We’ll never know but hope there is no serious injury involved.
FWIW, Frisch was with the team the first weekend but not during the series with Xavier.

Struggling? 2 innings, only 28 pitches, 2K, 2BB, 1 hit

Complete guess here but what if it was a positive COVID test? Think of the golfer John Rham, about to win a golf tournament... but just a few holes to go on day 4 you learn you tested positive and you can't continue. Like I said... not even a rumor just my crazy idea during these crazy times. Fingers crossed he is ok on all fronts and we get to see him pitch this weekend. I do miss the days when the coach could and would tell us about injuries.

But yes, it's possible, although if he was positive, I don't think they would have let me hang around the team after they pulled him.

Your right on both accounts.. it is Rahm and it was after the 3rd round of the memorial. I wasn't tracking he also tested positive before or during the olympics... I didn't chase those details.
Anyway, I was not aware that Pfennings was hanging with the team in the dug out after being removed. I'm still hoping for the best for the kid.

I like the idea that Dorman caught the issue before Pfennigs even noticed. I wonder if that's true. Maybe he saw a problem with Pfennigs' footwork or something. If so, could be huge. I hope we hear something tomorrow in the pregame.

I was dog-sitting at Surprise Stadium so missed it. However, a friend inside had texted me before the Pfennigs removal that it looked like Pfennigs had a tight back.

Let's hope that is all it was....so far it's the most plausible explanation I've heard.

Anytime you see that, you pull the pitcher immediately.
