I really don't want to spend the next several weeks opening threads on this board and seeing nothing but finger pointing, speculating on who's bailing out via the portal, and everybody's takes on Scott's deficiencies. We all know that this season has been a disappointment, and we all believe we know why. I get that, but it's basically done. I don't want to read about it anymore.
So, if you're going to post something on this thread, post something positive, something to look forward to. Glove, if somebody doesn't adhere to that, banish their post to - well, wherever you banish posts to.
I'll start with some of my thoughts:
It is totally wrong to say elite programs don't have down years. Look at Notre Dame after 5 first round picks left at the same time. Look at others in our own conference this year - UCLA, Oregon. They ain't knockin em dead. We'll be back, starting next season.
Kennedy Brown isn't going anywhere. She'll stay and graduate from OSU. Next year, she won't be forced into playing a position where she clearly isn't comfortable. She knows she wound up there this year out of necessity, but we're 3 deep there next year - Taylor, Raegan, and Jelena.
Ditto Taylor. She was on all conference teams her first 2 years here, and would have been again if not for the injury. She can see this team this year would have had more success with her healthy, and that we'll be much deeper next year. She stays, and she graduates.
Also the freshmen. They knew coming in what we had this year, and they certainly know what we have coming in next year. When they reflect on this season, they'll conclude that, as freshmen, they got good minutes, and really have no complaints. They also know that the minutes that went to Emily and Tea this year (combined over 33 per game) will be coming their way and the newbies will get the freshman minutes. The only other returner competing for guard minutes is Noelle.
So I don't expect anybody to transfer out, but I do expect somebody to transfer in who will have Power 5 conference experience. We're going to still be young, but we're going to acquit ourselves well, starting with that Phil Knight thing in Portland. We're going to get really big crowds in Gill again, and we're going back to the NCAA tournament!
We've got 2 of the top 10 players in the nation arriving this summer, people. Let's focus on tomorrow, and put yesterday behind us.

Only 5 Turnovers last night!
This team has continued to get better through the season. In my opinion this is one of the best indicators of a team that is good, or soon will be. The death run: Arizona, Stanford, Oregon, Oregon, Stanford clearly made this team better.

Thank you bvrbooster. Agree, it's a time for growth and reflection. Keeping the amount of past dwelling to a minimum is my preference too.
I'm equally convinced that all the players able to return will and will be ready to do great things. The new pieces will contribute and become vital teammates too.

Here's my positive thoughts.
1 Healthy Taylor could be better than sore shoulder Taylor, and as we've seen these last two months, even sore shoulder TJ is really, really valueble.
2 AJ has a chance to be really good. Her midrange jumpshot I think will end up being a real weapon.

Thanks for starting this post. In my mind, there is a lot to look forward to. May is a month the Beavs usually bring in recruits for their official visit. I expect we will see some players come through Corvallis this summer and probably a commitment or two. As soon as teams season ends, we'll see a lot of players hit the transfer portal. There will be players for the Beavs to pick up, and I expect there will be at least one addition, and possibly two. Kennedy Brown has shown strong leadership qualities in terms of her presence in front of cameras and for interviews, as well as that twitter post to students. In my book, she should be team captain next year. AJ shows every sign of being a strong contributor in the future. She does have a good mid-range shot, is not bad from three, plays hard on defense, and is quick. She can get down the court in a hurry. I may be wrong, but I don't think you look for her to be your ball handler, but rather someone who can bust the middle of the zone with the mid-range shot. She's not there yet, but give her some time. Talia--I think you'll see the warrior in her over the next 3 years Taylor--A healthy Taylor brings you double digit scoring, and strong rebounding The 2022 class will be arriving in Corvallis in 4 months.............yep, only 4 months from now. It's a great group of players! There's a lot more positives, so keep bring them....

I get that some folks think we need "a realty check", but hey, we're not oblivious. We just choose to spin it up vs down.
AJ's new aggressive style (and some from Greta) was great to see, I'm sure it was brought up in practice or one-one-one interviews, it was like a switch was turned on a couple games ago for both of them. I know the 4 incoming are freshman by year / age, but Timea, Adlee and Raegan are very confident and I expect will grow faster than average in this league. Lily may surprise me, she seems so passive in style but who knows.
I'd be shocked if anyone transfers out, why would they as others have outlined above. Yeah we had a few transfer out, but if you take it case by case, what nudged them out doesn't exist for the current group IMO

I don't necessarily agree with the pre-censorship of anyone who disagrees with your positive spin, but I hear what you're saying, so here's my contribution to your cause:
Ellie Mack. Wow. What a tough-as-nails player! Love her take no prisoners-style of play. Then, just when I thought she must be made of granite, she breaks down and cries at the last home game presser. Not that I wasn't in her camp before, but that moment totally won me over.
Ellie comes cross-continent after starring in another conference back east. She plays her year with us, then gets a bonus year and decides to stay. It's another half-career in college that she got on top of her Patriot League stardom. And because of it, she seriously, totally bleeds Orange. If you don't believe it, just look at her face during that presser. It's one beautiful moment!

I’m super positive about our WBB future. I wasn’t about this years team due to losing Aleah and Sasha and not having players with enough polish now to fill this se scoring voids, especially with Taylor limited (she was far from healthy I suspect throughout), and Talia taking on more defensive focus and spending a lot to energy setting our offense. Without Greta and AJ being super frosh offensively (which wasn’t a realistic ask), this season looked tough.
Next year we should get a leap in Greta and AJ’s game, two new bigs that come in with offensive polish, and two shooters who have easy form and deep range. I just feel like the defensive end offensive skill mix next year will have a lot more versatility to adapt to cover deficiencies that emerge. It will mean we need a lot from our younger players in our roster, so we will still likely have some lumps again next year, but I think we will be on our way to good, trending towards great.

Thank you!! This was a disappointing year but not some huge downward trend. I love this team and how hard they fight, and will be right back in the mix next year. I’m also tired of the constant negativity across all the boards. I get being critical and offering opinions, that’s what chat boards are for, But there’s too many people who just completely take it to the doom level. I read one post that said SR looks uninterested and is probably burned out. That’s ridiculous. He’s just as intense and maybe more so on the sidelines and guarantee he’s still passionate about this team. We have so much to look forward to in the next couple of years, And I’m still enjoying watching this team improve and fight this year!!
Go Beavers!!
