Tough game to read yesterday. Beaver hitters made much better contact, no strike outs till late in the game. Gavin Logan, gretler, and Meckler swung it well. Trosky got 2 hits in the first inning he ever played for the beavers. Bazana looks like the real deal, bundle of energy. Bad news is the NM pitchers will be the worst we see this year. Defense was tight, our outfield of Meckler, Melton and Boyd cover everything. Hjerpe was OK ,threw strikes and had weak contact. topped out at 85 mph. I thought maybe the radar gun needed to be adjusted but it the second game Gonzaga guy touched 96. The zags threw there #1 last night. Real dude, 17 scouts hanging around the bullpen while he warmed up. We get their #2 today, side arm low 90’s, preseason 2nd team all American. Zags are a good club, true test today of where we stand early.
