Given that I only watched the last quarter of the Super Bowl and exactly none of the NBA playoffs, I’ve watched more of these Winter Olympics than the Super Bowl and NBA playoffs together.

A few days after learning that team figure skating is a thing (seems like a TV ratings boosting thing), I saw luge relay for a few minutes during lunch. A three sled team and they add up times... I might watch if there was a handoff between moving sleds, imagine! But no. So I've watched about 10 min. total. About the same for the past few Winter Olympics. I remember snowboard cross being exciting several years ago when I saw it. And we were in Vanc. B.C. during one Olympics and going to bars when curling was on TV was fun just because everyone up there was so into it.

I normally am a big fan of the Olympics...summer and winter.
But truth to tell, I really can't stand China right now and I really don't want to watch an event like the Olympics because it seems to legitimize that country. Not trying to start a political argument it's just the reason I'm not enjoying the Olympics right now.

But I still watched the events that interested me.

I get the biggest kick out of watching the Japanese women’s curling team. They are always so cheerful and positive.
I’m really disappointed in the figure skating scandal. 15 years old and adults are pumping drugs into her. That’s just wrong.
The coverage has sort of sucked in my opinion, so it’s hard to get into the rest.

IDGAF can be used BOTH ways, ya know? I DO……or, I DON’T. My GAF about the Olympics has WANED severely over the years. TOO much cheating, corruption, waste and politicization. IDGAF.

No NHLers for hockey hurts. Would have made men's hockey look a lot more competitive. The time zone difference hurts. All the cross country, biathlon, and speed skating events are all too late into the night on the west coast.

Team USA has the most medals since Sochi; fewer golds than in Pyeongchang, though.
The NBC coverage sucks, though. They keep trying to preview things, as opposed to just letting us watch sports. They focus on sports that Team USA is expected to do well in, which sets everyone up for disappointment, if Team USA does not win. And you do not get to see Team USA athletes win in events, where they are the underdog, which is basically what makes the Olympics great.
The play-by-play announcing is great. The sappy build-up stories just infuriate me and encourage me to watch pretty much anything else.

Heartbreak here. Poor Satsuki Fujisawa and company. But hats off to Great Britain for an amazing match! Silver for Japan!
