The first couple of years, there was a lot of play with the lineup, trying to find the right fit and the right players. It looks solid this year.
Who's fighting for position? Sure, catcher...but Logan did well. Short? Outfield? DH?
How much does Canham fiddle with the lineup? Personally, I'd like to see it solid as soon as possible, with mid-week games used to evaluate/motivate second string players.
And any guesses on tomorrow's starting pitcher (for the early game)?

Jake starts for us tomorrow. Competition is way to close this year to just pencil it in for the season. In addition, if you don't give kids some playing time, they could be gone the next year via the portal. Whole different world out there. New Mexico State and Gonzaga currently tied at two in the top of the eighth.

New Mexico State and Gonzaga currently tied at two in the top of the eighth. I don’t think the portal is going to make a damn bit of difference in baseball. The majority of guys are on partial scholarships and there’s little NIL money in baseball. Guys can transfer once without sitting out and that will still happen no matter what. You don’t determine your lineup by who might transfer. |
