Man Stanford has alot of weapons. Beavs are fighting though.

Uh the Beavs are getting killed by the Stanford 3 point shooting. So why do you go to a zone?

Great 1st quarter, then Stanford kind of figured things out. Hope we can be competitive and not get blown out in the 2nd half.

Stanford is a big match up problem unless you have speed like Arizona. Arizona has about four perimeter players who can live in the other players jock. rueck is resorting to the zone but he is trying to keep his team out of foul trouble till the second half. and then you will see the real aggression defensively of the beavs.
If I was rueck I’d get our 5 fastest players and tell them to stick like glue to your man. We are in good shape foul wise so throw your fastest kids at them. See what happens.

It is a general principle of basketball that if the other team is clearly more athletic to play zone as it will be difficult to match up man to man with their athleticism.

Beavs had 25 points in the 1st quarter and a combined 18 in the second and third. We have 15 Turnovers compared to their 5.
In the next week we will either put ourselves in the conversation for the NCAA tourney or be 4 - 8 and looking at the NIT.

Stanford is simply a much better basketball team than we are, period.
My concern right now is that this team will simply quit and mail in the rest of the season. Friday against the Ducks at Gill will tell us a lot.
