Great season preview article by Kerry. I know it's all hype at this point before a game has been played. Still cool to be optimistic about the potential. Hitting will be improved but some uncertainty with the bullpen. Always fun to watch who emerges as the main arms. Looking forward to this year's edition of Beaver baseball which is my favorite OSU sport to follow.

Mentions Wheeler a few times....probably going to get a good look.
So many options at 2B, SS and 3B, going to be a battle for those positions! Great stuff

Every year I look for a super frosh on the mound (like Reyes, Moore, Rasmussen) and/or in the field (Barney, Conforto, Madrigal). Somebody who makes an immediate impact. It looks like Bazana could be that guy this year. I remember Casey gushing (as much as he ever "gushed") about frosh Andrew Moore in Eggers' preseason article. I don't see Canham saying much about any freshman pitchers this year, but maybe that's Eggers' editing. Any candidates?

He’s a guy that will be a future weekend rotation guy. Victor Quinn, not mentioned, is a high velocity guy who could be used in high leverage situations if he can command his FB.

I haven't been following offseason stuff very closely - but we have 7 ft and 6'8" pitchers? Sounds like Tinkle doesn't know either (thankfully). I kind of want to see the 7 footer with control issues throw an inning or two

Bennycat is really going to miss Jack Armstrong. Mr. Eggers is a great writer. Bennycat only wishes he would take the time to proofread.

Great write up.... I think our bullpen maybe unproven but I see talent. Sure, we have to find out who can do it under the bright lights.
It also seems very clear that this new coaching staff is looking for bigger bodies. It seems like Pat even crafted some guys that were heavier to lose weight during there time here, or maybe they were just losing the baby fat and growing into men.
Anyway, if the contest was football basketball and baseball... we would be a top 25 team in all three. We have some beef.

Dorman himself is 6'6" and although he has recruited pitchers in the 5-11 to 6-2 range, he has brought in some big boys to pitch here. Extension and angle Give him more to work with.
Cope is 7' Carpenter is 6-8 Pfennigs is 6-7 Lawson is 6-7 Nelson is 6-5 Lattery is 6-5 Hibbard is 6-5 Mundt is 6-5 Kmatz is 6-4 3 others are 6-3

Love Eggers, love Mitch, great preview, really excited about this season, but just want to take a moment to lament the loss of season previews where we'd have a murderer's row lineup and Casey's comments would still boil down to 'eh, we've got some guys, we'll see how they do'.
Still getting used to these season previews where our coach actually talks up his players lol...
