On January 12th 2020 OSU was a win at ASU from being the number one team in the country. They lost that night and have gone 32 and 25 since. Just the facts! That’s the state of the program.

One WIN away from being number one (#1) in the entire NATION…..to only seven games above .500 in two years. Something is clearly not right. NOT what it once was.

Just goes to show that the polls/prognosticators can be wrong - that's what is "clearly not right" Obviously the team WASN'T in reality that close to being #1 in Nation.

Odd fact, OSU lost their 2nd starter after that game. Other than Stanford and Notre Dame back in the day, no other program could take those loses and be squat.

Ok, so that is the state of the program for the last 57 games. Not sure why you didn't want to include the first part of the 2020 season, or why it's an odd number of 57 games, but fine. What defines the state of the program? In your mind it's apparently 2 years+ of games played. Why is it not 1 game, or 1 year, or 5 years, or just the conference season? Why does it not include future recruits already signed? Are they not part of the state of the porgram.
You definition is fine if 2 years and 24 days of games played is the only consideration as the parameter, but my parameter would be different. My parameter would look at this program with a bunch of underclassmen playing important roles, with probably the best freshman in the conference, with 2 of the top 10 high school players in the country joining the team next year, with the Pac12's leading rebounder in 2021 out for the season with shoulder surgery. The program has already had 2 of the top 5 HS players from the 2024 season visit the campus. Curious questions, do players visit a campus if the state of the program is not good? Does making the NCAA tournament play into the state of the program?
What would you consider the state of the UCLA program? During your timeframe the Beavs have 2 wins, and 1 OT loss to UCLA. UCLA has the Number 1 recruiting class in the country coming in next year. Does their recruiting class get to be included in their state of the program? In my parameter it would, as those players are signed commitments to the program.
I care about the Beavs way too much and of course the losses hurt, but what we are seeing now looks to only be a short-term downturn. This season will be tough with Talia, Jelena, Greta, and AJ all technically freshman. Kennedy is but a sophomore who didn't have a full freshman year, and this team doesn't have the usual 3pt shooting, or the teamwork SR teams normally have.
Anyway, I hear what you are saying, but my state of the program would still include a very bright future. The only things that would change the positive direction for the program over the next 2-4 years, are injuries, or players leaving the program, and certainly those things could happen.

On January 12th 2020 OSU was a win at ASU from being the number one team in the country. They lost that night and have gone 32 and 25 since. Just the facts! That’s the state of the program. I might add that since February 22nd, of 2020,(about 6 weeks after your start date) the Beavs are 27 and 15 a .643 winning percentage. Much better than the .561 percentage from your start date. So....if we use that as logic, the state of the program is improving. Again, timing is everything. If we take the state of the program after the next 5 games, if things don't go right, we may think the state of the program is dismal, but if were to look at the state of the program in the short time from of the last couple weeks last season, or if we would at the state of the program next season, I think you will look at the State of the Program quite differently.

Just FYI since UCLA was randomly tossed out in posts above...
Since '17-18 they are 101-40. Since the 1/12/20 date 37-20. 30-18 since the next random date of 2/22/20.
Not that this or the above really matters?!
What exactly does the "state of the program" actually mean? How is it measured?
Obviously from (3) Pac12 championships and a F4 it's digressed. But, then so has UConn I guess since they didn't win or even play in the NC game.
