I think he's done a great job in his tenure as OSU President. But 72 is an age where many either voluntarily or contractually turn toward retirement.
Anyone heard information through the grapevine about President Ray's near term plans?
(I know this isn't directly related to football so if the mod wants to move it to another board I have no objections).

It would be interesting to see how long University Presidents stick around. These days they're generally an older bunch. Saw a stat that in 2011 58% of University Presidents were 61 or older.

Dr ray signed a 5 year contract in May of last year. So tied up through 2020.
Frankly he can have a rollover contract like MR. (kidding) Another 4 years the Bend campus should be up & running. The Newport thing should be on the books. And he would be about 76 years old. So maybe semi retire and become President Emeritus? Consult with the replacement?
He may be OS greatest President ever. I thought Dr Risser was great in every way. Dr Ray has shoot way past him. Partly due to longevity. But Dr Ray wants excellence in all areas of campus life. And has demonstrated that he can lead the disparate groups to achieve excellence.
