Feel very sad for her , but also very hopeful regarding the fact that she will be free from pain and able to move more fully, rather than in restricted motions !

Well, life goes on. The team has rallied well without her, and hopefully will continue to do so. Looking at the bright side, and looking ahead, this will give Jelena way more quality minutes this year than she would otherwise have had. Next year, we'll be very deep at this position with Taylor, Jelena, Raegan, and also Kennedy, who will continue to gain experience as a PAC 12 post for the rest of this year.

I cannot recall a single WBB undergoing shoulder surgery....
Is there a general understanding of what was repaired in Taylor's surgery....
Baseball players, rugby players, football players - shoulder surgery is not that rare....WBB that's another story altogether....
If anyone has ideas on this, I'm interested.....

I tore mine sliding into second base , thus I am ‘thinking’ that it could have happened earlier in another sport or activity .
Freshman year, and beyond, I only saw her with the K tape on her shoulder and back - plus some dark suction cup treatments ( blood flow ).
It just got to a point where the pain was probably too much !
Just a guess !

Those legendarily long arms of hers are big levers that transmit a lot of force into those shoulders. Hoping for a 100 percent successful surgery and a quick return to full function, even if she never plays another minute for OSUWBB. |

Deven Hunter had shoulder problems at least her senior season and maybe earlier. Not sure if it was ever repaired but no it was a possibility. |

Shoulder instability usually from a series of collisions/ injuries. The capsule ligaments or labrum become stretched, torn or detached. It must be bad enough the ball of the shoulder joint to move either completely or partially out of the socket. I believe it's been mentioned that she's had dislocation issues. |

I am going to forecas that she will be just fine , given the advanced surgical techniques of today , the sport she plays, as well as the position she plays ! Many snowboarders, baseball players and football players return to their sports after surgery and re-hab.
She will also, probably have access to one of the top surgeons in America ( I would guess ),
That surgeon would be using State of the art techniques, based on the patients wishes ( safe and effective return to a demanding sport at the D1 level.).
She deserves the best in terms of a rapid and complete recovery ! She will be missed in the meantime .

Not sure what Taylor's specific injury/treatment so each specialist has their parameters.
Always wondered about athletic surgeries. When I needed it way back, I or my family was not asked about surgeon choices.
Do families get to pick? Does the university have a say since they foot the bill? Is there a compromise or family out-of-pocket if they want someone specific??
