a DC in a crucial part of a game. Why do you run a slot blitz and leave the best WR in the NFL 1 on 1 on a safety?
Bring LBs, anyone accept a slot corner to leave Cupp on Winfield. Morris's HC interviews should be canceled shortly.
Exciting NFL game mainly due to all the poor play and multiple chances to win or lose a playoff game.

The final touchdown in the 2019 Oregon State @ Washington State game FTW.
The difference between an Oregon State bowl game and all of those extra practices and sitting out of a sixth consecutive (and ultimately seventh consecutive) bowl season.

The Buffalo bill head coach for not squib kicking the ball with 13 seconds left. Would have taken at least one play away from KC on their game tying drive.

We had the TB defense being too aggressive at the end of the game, and the Buffalo defense being too passive at the end.
Both resulted in doom for the defense.
Maybe just play it straight up??
Playing defense in the NFL is a tough job.

Clock doesn't start until someone on the return team touches it. Likely would have immediately "given themselves up", which might have only resulted in a couple of seconds coming off the clock. Then again, they *could* have stupidly attempted to return it, which would certainly have taken a play away from the Chiefs. I don't know that NFL fair catches on kickoffs inside the 25 are moved up to the 25 (never seen that happen in an NFL game), so maybe a high kickoff to the 15 could have forced them to either fair catch at the 15 (no time off clock) or return the ball (at least a few seconds off).

A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. You are trading Chiefs at the 25 with 13 seconds left for an unknown. Squib kicking on natural grass. The last thing that you want there is to lose a game on a meaningful kickoff return. You could tack on a personal foul penalty. The ball could dribble out of bounds. Any number of things can happen. At the end of the day, as long as you don't give up two 15+ yard plays in 6 or fewer seconds, you win. You have two All-Pro safeties, and the defensive coordinator took them completely out of the two most important plays of the season, playing them 25+ yards off the ball. You have five players guarding four both plays. The Bills have an All-Pro corner in Tre'Davious White. However, he tore his ACL in week 12. After White, Levi Wallace is the best corner the Bills have. And Wallace is an UDFA. The Chiefs picked on Wallace's side of the field both times. The first play went right past Wallace. I don't know what he was doing. Three guarding three on the left hand side and the closest defender was nine yards off the receiver, when it was caught. Kelce makes a good block. If the outside receiver could have made a block, that play gets 25+ yards, because that is where the safeties set up. If they get past the safeties, it's a touchdown. Terrible defense considering the situation. And then they play worse defense. You have your best corner on Kelce. One-on-one, and he gets beat! Good gravy. If the safeties are playing the right spot, there is no way that they get into field goal range. Even five yards up. No way. It might have even been an incomplete pass. That is some just awful situational defensive play-calling. Whoever drew that up should be fired immediately. You are playing not to lose, and you still lost. 100% on the defensive coordinator. If you put your best players in a spot, where they can make a play, great things tend to happen.
