Baseball America released their 2022 Top-100 MLB Draft prospects list today - Two OSU pitchers and an OSU recruit made the list. BA's draft projections are credible. They do a lot of research and talk with a lot of scouts and BB organization people. MLB folks take their phone calls. Never perfect but usually fairly reliable IMO. Gavin Turley, the Chandler, AZ.-Hamilton HS star is ranked # 45 (2nd round-9th pick) a 5 tool prospect with + (430') and ++ speed (6.29). OSU coaches have their work cut out for them - Sell an OSU education and baseball experience hard and cross your fingers. Any scout's concerns? Yes, Gavin is an aggressive hitter and tends to expand the strike zone. In Pro ball that can be a real problem (can he hit the heat and does he know his strike zone). However, the last guy we had that did that a wee bit was a guy named Madrigal and it sorta worked for him. Will Frisch is ranked #80 (3rd round-14th pick). Will has touched 98, can camp on 95 and should be very good this year. His secondary offerings have steadily improved, as has his command. Will has developed steadily at OSU and has more waiting in the tank. Cooper Hjerpe is the #90 prospect on the list (3rd round-24th pick). Cooper could go earlier than this projection, some scouting services have him going in the first 2 rounds of the draft. Scouting concerns are "sidearmer" (low 3/4 arm slot) and consistency. Hjerpe has outings where he is unhittable and outings where he gets shelled. A ton of plus with him, good velo (94 mph), good stuff-4 good pitches, good makeup, etc.) FWIW: I watch PAC-12 recruiting classes., they will tell you plenty. This year the ducks have two highly ranked pitching recruits, Cox from Toutle Lake and Maier from British Columbia. Both made the list, Cox is projected at the 30th pick in the 2nd round and Maier is the 1st pick in the 3rd round. What a shame if they both signed.

Love this chin, thanks! Maier is on hole's squad this year, probably a one and done after coming in from JC or Canada (one or other, can't remember...)

Maier and Cox both throw 95 and both are expected to be drafted. Where they are drafted and the $$$ offered will be the question.

Will Frisch has more than touched 98 mph, he was clocked at 98.6, back in the summer of 2019, right after arriving in Corvallis.
