I had to watch on the internet from home. Saw the Beavs win. Jades performance on the floor was great, but didn’t hear the score.

Wasn't able to get down to the meet but appreciated being able to view it on the webcast.

A bit on scoring: ------------------- Last week, San Jose State hit 195.95 at Denver. SJSU only had to count two routines below 9.75. They had 19 routines of 9.75 or better. They had six routines at 9.85+. This week, SJSU hit 192.725. They had 8 routines of 9.75 or better - half of them on beam. They had two routines of 9.85+. Both on beam.
Last year, SJSU's best score was about 194.5. (That's an average of 9.725 per routine.)
I'm just spitballin' here, but I think that if we had Denver judges, we would have easily broken 196.
------------------
Even with Gill judges, if Phoebe and Madi had scored just 9.7's on bars, we break 196. That's pretty good for the first meet of the season. It's easy to see how this team can make it into the 197's. Just get bars to 49.0 and add 0.05 to every routine on the other events.

I predict we will see 10’s from Jade regularly this season.

It'll be interesting to see. It seemed like she was aiming for 9.9's. She could dial back the difficulty a notch and practically guarantee 10's most of the time, but would that be fun for her? I think she'll keep the difficulty up to the point where a 10 will still feel pretty special. Which is awesome for us fans. Who wants to see the second greatest vaulter in the world do the same Y-1.5 as half of the other girls?
