SEC only cares about (3) bowl games... two that lead to the 3rd.
I'm pretty sure the remaining peons and whatever bowl records matter little in the arrogance of the SEC.

What do the bowl games really matter except for a couple? Does anybody really care that we lost a minor bowl game…except fans, of course? Does anyone care that UCLA didn’t play, or that Oregon lost? No. All eyes are on a very few number of games. The SEC knows it, and we should, too.

SEC now 1-5 in bowl games. Commissioner should be fired immediately! Purdue dropped 48 on a vaunted SEC defense. I forget who it was on here talking up the SEC once upon a time, but the SEC East is still trash. Georgia's best win on the year is a 10-3 win over Clemson, which played like hot garbage at the beginning of the year, finishing third in the Atlantic Division.

No. All eyes are on a very few number of games. The SEC knows it, and we should, too. For perspective, after the LA Bowl, the most-watched Pac-12 games this year: 1. Oregon @ Ohio State 2. Oregon @ Utah 3. Washington @ Michigan 4. Texas A&M v. Colorado @ Denver 5. Pac-12 Championship Game - Utah v. Oregon 6. Oregon @ UCLA 7. LSU @ UCLA 8. LA Bowl - Utah State v. Oregon State
The Alamo Bowl should come in about second on this list, and the Las Vegas should also be in that range. Miami - Wazzu had a chance to make the list, but I am unsure, if Central Michigan - Wazzu makes the cut. The Rose Bowl will probably be the most-watched Pac-12 game of the season.
Oregon State's biggest game of the season was the LA Bowl, and they played like hot garbage. Arizona State's biggest game was probably the Las Vegas Bowl. Garbage. Oregon won at the Shoe, but lost twice to Utah. The Alamo Bowl is likely the second-most watched Pac-12 game of the year up to that point and showed the conference again as hot garbage.
With a down USC, the bowl games are each among the 10-15 most important Pac-12 games from a national perspective. You have to show up and win. Otherwise, that is who you are to the majority of the country. Who cares what you did a month or two before?
Hopefully, Wazzu shows up and rolls Central Michigan. The Utes have a great opportunity to make a big statement for the conference and the one Pac-12 team that bested them this season.

An updated list: 1. Rose Bowl - Utah v. Ohio State 2. Oregon @ Ohio State 3. Oregon @ Utah 4. Washington @ Michigan 5. Alamo Bowl - Oregon v. Oklahoma 6. Texas A&M v. Colorado @ Denver 7. Pac-12 Championship Game - Utah v. Oregon 8. Oregon @ UCLA 9. Las Vegas Bowl - Wisconsin v. Arizona State 10. LSU @ UCLA 11. LA Bowl - Utah State v. Oregon State The Rose Bowl was the most-watched bowl games outside of the three CFP games. The Alamo Bowl was the fourth-most watched bowl game outside of the Big Six Bowls and the National Championship Game. The Las Vegas Bowl was seventh. The LA Bowl was 10th. And the Sun Bowl was 11th. That is not terrible out of 40 bowls and the National Championship Game.
