No one has really been able to replace him in the booth.

He was the best football color analyst in my lifetime, and and never even knew whether he said "Boom!" or "Poom!" after a big hit or at the end of describing a big play. He somehow seemed to get so genuinely excited he sorta melded them together - the perfect middle-ground - and was all about the players without favoring either team. BPOOM!
