It would be nice if they could pick up a game from someone in the West.

It would be nice but not likely especially in light of the weather.
The most important thing to remember is the health of the players. We really don't know what the long term effects of covid are.

This virus has been around for the better part of 2 years, and it will be around for the next 2 as well. As it mutates, the virus seems to be less lethal as was projected, and will become endemic like the flu. If you're referring to the fools who have refused vaccination for a year now, the answer to your question would probably be never. (Wonder if they'll take the new pills available when symptoms present themselves? Or will that be yet another thing that will never be introduced to the temple that is their bodies?) In my opinion, in the near future we need to stop canceling things because 1 or 2 participants developed covid. It's going to spread whether we play a basketball game or not.

Anyone know where the NCC team was located when they cancelled? Today's the 26th. Were they in Corvallis? Just curious.
When a team cancels because of COVID issues are there specific guidelines they must follow to make that call? Are there minimal explanations they must provide the opposition?
In theory, can one player test positive and then every one else on the team get put on-hold while team-testing is completed?
Obviously, I really am not clear what it means (medically) when one team decides to cancel. I know that a team must cancel if they don't have 7 scholarship players available - but are they allowed to cancel for lesser reasons? Or, can a team cancel simply out of precaution and uncertainty? Especially in a non-coherence game such as this.
Has UCLA, for example, provided any public info as to why they are cancelling games left and right? Somebody, somewhere must have to sign off on it from somewhere in the program. And they would have to follow some kind of commonly accepted guidelines.
Anyone have a clear handle on any of this? GO BEAVS!!

This doesn't answer any of my questions - - but. NCCU last played Dec. 20. They travel cross country for one game with OSU - then head back home for their next game on Jan. 8. They're currently 1-8. We'll never know, most likely, but with air travel being a national zoo, sports budgets being a disaster, Covid just may not have been the only force at work in this deal. GO BEAVS!!

I had doubts all along as to whether this game would take place for all the non Covid reasons you mentioned 411500. It's a long way across country for one game. For the Beavs, despite how bad NCCU is, they could have used the practice. With the holiday, players were out of town, so a game would have been nice before Pa-12 play.

Then again, we get more time to prep for the Pac-12 games. Hopefully vigorous practices shake the rust out. Let's just hope that our traveling players caught their flights and didn't catch covid!

Boooooooooooooo. When will people learn? Stop lowering your guard. It ain't over. It may never be over. Folks better learn. Yah, Look at all those idiots that got on airplanes to travel to Grandmas house. Should close down the airports where it is highly likely to spread. The government can do that can't they with a stroke of a pen.
And then you have people travel to bowl games, why allow that? Won't be surprised if they close attendance to Pac-12 games in basketball in January thru March. Just as well write this season off again and give players another year of eligibility. Do you think the NCAA will do that? It will never be over, you are right about that.

Other girl teams schedule teams to fill the loss of there games. That a solution pick another team to play and don’t worry bout it. Our girls deserve something for being Covid sensitive. Our school is close to many D-1 basketball teams. Get on the phone Coach and find a substitute! We want to see our girls keep practicing and be ready for pac 12 play!
