It WAS 43k before the renovation Now it’s 35k after renovation (36k max cap.) Ok, thanks for the information. It seems a bit strange that, as part of stadium renovation, seating capacity was reduced rather than increased. I would guess that the vast majority of renovations INCREASE seating capacity rather than decrease it. When you take away aluminum bench seats that are tight together versus individual seats, you get a reduced seating capacity. The only bench seating left in the stadium is the student section(this will never change) and the South endzone. South Endzone may be remodeled in the future depending upon sellouts and waiting lists. As of right now, the stadium isn't sold out for any single game, even with the reduced seating capacity. So reducing was the right call, for now.

I would guess that the vast majority of renovations INCREASE seating capacity rather than decrease it. It's actually the opposite. Chair seats used to be 17 inches wide, now they are 21-23. Shorter rows, more aisles, for customer convenience and for stricter fire code enforcement. Bleacher seating replaced by chairback seating. More space between rows, means fewer rows. All adds up to fewer, but better, seating.

Just an FYI, Washington Way between 15th and 26th is still a complete mess and not anywhere close to being finished, no pedestrian access AT ALL from the north side to the south side except at the 15th intersection. So if you're coming to the game from the East side of the stadium, you might want to give yourself some extra time.

Maybe this was talked about earlier, but why do we not have a working PA system in our new stadium?
Two giant stack speakers in the Terrace seemed to be the only working stadium audio.

The new sound system hasn't arrived - the speakers tonight are a temporary solution (per Sara Elcano on Twitter).

While temporary, the "new" PA sure sounded way better than the old PA - though I can't help but wonder how it was for for folks in front of it on The Terrace...
