The Beaver's LHP Cooper Hjerpe is the 15 ranked collegian and predicted to be the 23rd selection in the 1st rouund of the MLB Draft. He is the only Beav to be included in the Top-150 College Player rankings.
On the PG Top-300 Draft Board that includes preps and collegians, OSU recruit Gavin Turley projects as the 10th selection of 2nd Round and OSU's Ely Kennel projects as the 24th pick in the 8th round.
In this listing there are some huge names missing. It's possible PG isn't listing players that do not intend on entering the draft this year.

I will be totally amazed if Frisch and Pfennigs don’t go in the first 5 rounds. Of course, this assumes no injury.

Just seeing the names Hjerpe / Frisch / Pfennings together, gets my Feb. 2022 Surprise AZ juices FLOWING! How does that threesome compare to recent past ? 2017 - Heimlich - Thompson - Fehmel 2018 - Heimlich - Fehmel - Gambrell 2019 - Fehmel - Gambrell/Pearce/Chamberlin 2020 - Abel - Pfennings - Hjerpe 2021 - Abel - Pfennings - Hjerpe (note: I'm well known on Benny's House for 'mistakes', so some of the above might be a bit 'off'). At any rate - I'll take Hjerpe / Frisch / Pfennings (in whatever order) for a Fri-Sat-Sun mound trio. Bring a few bats along for the show and it should be a real good season. 2 months from tomorrow! (in 72 degree Surprise AZ - that's the Ave. Hi for the date). One real good thing about college baseball: to Hell with the MLB CBA!

I liked to call it the EFG rotation. Tat was the post-Abel rotation. Then, things completely fell apart at the beginning of May. Chamberlain only had three starts and Pearce only had two starts all year. The failed Sam Tweedt experiment squandered seven starts. 2020 was Chamberlain - Pfennigs - Burns. Abel was hurt, and Hjerpe was still developing.

That weekend starting rotation has substantial upside. They just need to throw strikes.....easy for me to say. The one thing we have not had since 2018 is a consistent performance of a dominant pitcher over time. Luke, Andrew Moore come to mind. Delving into something I know nothing about here, but I am a bit concerned about the artificial turf on the Goss mound. It seemed apparent last year that it was an issue at times.

It wasn't like the ground crew was overextended keeping the mound in good condition for play. Especially since the rest of the field was fieldturf. Mistake in my mind.

The other odd thing is that the entire grounds crew is still present at each game, or I think they were present from the Parker comments.

It seems like a long time ago now, but I remember Kevin going well until he pitched some meaningful innings at home. I remember him looking Omaha quality when he pitched 6 innings of no hit ball against U of W on the road and he was very good on a Friday night in Eugene. It just seemed that over the season he lost confidence in throwing the off speed stuff for strikes. Hope he figures it out, would love to watch him in a major league ballpark. We put turf mound in and have trouble, ucks take turf mound out and get better. Maybe a coincidence, maybe not.

I took a look at how the probable rotation: Hjerpe, Frisch, Pfennings did on that mound in 2021 in their April/May appearances against PAC-12 schools (though one start in that period was against Gonzaga). Combined, those 3 pitched 41 innings at Goss during that stretch, giving up 38 hits and 11 BB: combined WHIP 1.19 (both Hjerpe and Frisch were <1 WHIP). Abel pitched 21 innings in April/May at Goss with a 1.38 WHIP.

Huge names missing and just way off from most draft boards out there. Hjerpe isn't even listed in Top 150 college draft prospects on D1 Baseball. Perfect game lists have always been very poorly done. That being said Hjerpe is a stud and hopefully performs like a 1st round pick for us this year
