The Beavers got screwed by the refs. The replay unambiguously showed kicked ball and that Ellie didn’t touch it. Screwed twice. Ellie was well outside the restricted area on the last drive.

Rueck too late in recognizing we needed a point guard who could keep Villanova from overplaying the lanes. TvO not yet quick enough or experienced. Tea Adams should have been brought into the game in Q1. This loss on the coaching staff. Hopefully, coaches will make better in game adjustments going forward. There is no way we should have lost this game.

OSU goes down 52-56. Ugh. Again with the turnover margin. Villanova +12 on TO's. OSU also without a single steal in the game.

The freshman a combined 2 for 20, surprised the score was that close given this stat. I think we just have to look at this team as a building year, getting the freshman minutes and learning how to play at a high level. Love my Beavs but a 500 mid-Pac 12 team at best. Go Beavs!

There goes RPI. May have to win PAC-12 tourney for an automatic bid to the dance. Down year for both WBB and MBB. Hope the coach realizes need a true point guard next season.

Having a fully freshman backcourt will result in games like this, regardless of how good they were in high school. It’s a different game even against average teams like Villanova.
Beavs didn’t lose because of coaching or a bad call at the end. They lost because of inexperience in the backcourt, playing on the road.

A familiar tale, I'm afraid - shot 25.0% on threes, outscored at the free throw line by 5, allowed one of their players to go for near 30, and committed 12 more turnovers than they did. It's starting to look like a long year ahead.
We simply do not have right now that seasoned, veteran player who can consistently put a team on her back night after night.

Our D was good enough today. The coaching staff needs to focus upon improving the offense. We need improvement at point guard and that may mean moving Talia to the 2-guard position and playing either Tea or Greta at the point. It is still possible to have a good enough offense as proven last year, when our guard situation was very similar. Quick ball movement via good passing and player movement can make up for poor handles when dealing with pressure. The turn-around last year gives us some hope, but I can’t say I’m very optimistic at this point.

MAYBE we're losing because lack of talent! How long can we play the "we're losing because of inexperience", I'm betting that most teams have the same issues. We're heading towards a bottom tier program in the PAC and I don't think ex uses are going to help the gang that can't shoot straight!! Depressing to watch this happening to a great program. I'm not sure there's another PAC team I would favor us over right now, didn't see that coming. :-(

There is no way we should have lost this game. Agree that it was worth a try to bring in Tea much earlier. And then too, there is the veteran guard that is basically tied (very small sample) as the top 3 point % shooter on the squad...she played 0 minutes today. Weird 2-game road trip. In neither game were all three true 'bigs' available for the rotation. Good on Jelana though - she 'averaged' a double-double on the road trip, with only 1 TO and 5 blocks on the weekend.

If you recruit 5 star players sometimes you need to let the talent play. Looking to the sidelines at every position for a play or offensive set is not the way to create leadership. Scott needs to loosen the reins.

Just looking at the boxscore, Beavs we're horrible from the field. Villanova not any better. Going to be a trying season if they can't find the hoop. Still not thrilled with the "live by the three and die by the three." Doesn't make sense to keep shooting them when you can't hit them. Don't care about certain percentage equals a higher two point percentage.

Bright spot: Mitrovic and Corosdale each with double-double
