Anyone know what the plan is for that building/site? I doubt tearing it down and placing a new building on the site is an option. It's central location on campus (at 15th and Jefferson) would make it a nice spot for an on-campus brewpub in conjunction with OSU's fermentation science program.  |

I couldn't access the campus master plan to find out (broken links or walled off) so I asked Planning and will let you know.
MacVicar is long gone so he couldn't volunteer his body to stop such an on-campus function.

At the University of Wisconsin-Madison they have a full-blown Beer Hall in their Student Union. |

Lots of schools do. I think they took the Lair of the Bear out of the Cal union when they redid it, though.
That whole area over by the west entrance to the Pharmacy building north of the playhouse is being redone, but it's one of the slowest projects I've ever seen.
