Wow. That is SOOOOoooooo bad I had to look it up and was pleasantly(?) surprised that there are a whopping 358 schools total in the NET ratings. (I thought maybe we were #261 of a total 283 or something like that.)

Now we get to hurt the entire conference by dragging down their NET rankings. And should we actually improve, we'll be dropping Quad 4 losses on our peers, significantly hurting their chances of getting at-large bids. Quite literally, this team is now positioned to hurt our own AD budget's bottom line, along with everybody else in the conference.
It makes me wonder if UCLA had knocked us out in the first-round of the Pac-12 tourney, we might very well be in a mid-season firing situation.

Quite literally, this team is now positioned to hurt our own AD budget's bottom line, along with everybody else in the conference. It makes me wonder if UCLA had knocked us out in the first-round of the Pac-12 tourney, we might very well be in a mid-season firing situation. We made a bunch of money for the conference last year. We're just making things even I'm not sure how much the NCAA "unit" will be worth in 2022, but OSU's (3) wins earned (4) NCAA units (qualifying + 3 wins). I think last year they were valued at about $337k each. They are paid out to the Pac12 on a rolling 6 year basis, paid at the current year's rate which has increased ~3% each year. So, I believe OSU earned the Pac12 (1) unit for 2016 tourney for 2016 (~$265k), 2017 (~$274k), 2018 (~$280k), 2019 (~$282k), 2020 (~$327k) no additional units were earned by anyone as tourney cancelled. Then for 2021 they earned that (1) unit + (4) more @ $337k each. Totaling ~$1.686 mil If we assume no tourney this season, OSU will still earn the Pac12 (4) units x ~$347k for 2022 and will continue to thru 2026... at increasing rates. Even if no other units are earned. OK... I could be off as this was explained a while back, but should be close. Most think each NCAA tourney is a one year payout, but it's such a huge money maker the 6-years rolling payout was needed. It's a huge money maker for the Pac12... getting 4,5,6 teams in and getting some Ws pays off huge for 6 years and rolls previous successes in. 2021... getting 5 teams in last year gains a conference ~$1.686+ (as each years rates increase) million/yr for 6 years even if they all lose! (5) 1st rd wins = $1.686 mil (4) 2nd rd wins = $1.349 mil (3) S16 wins = $1.011 mil (1) E8 win = $337k Total of (13) units $4.383 mil + all units from previous the 5 tourneys @ $337k per 2020 = (0) units 2019 = (5) units 2018 = (1) unit 2017 = (11) units 2016 = (10) units Totals for 2021 payout: (40) units @$337k = $13.486 mil The 2022 payout starts with (30) units x ~$347k. The extremely poor 2018, 2019 showings along with Covid cancellation of 2020 really hurt the Pac12.
