rgeorge - it's definitely a different vibe. There's more energy in the crowd at the high school games I've gone to than OSU, but that could be because defenses aren't as good and there's guys flying up and down the field all game. A UNH guy screamed bloody murder on a tackle early on and I think that set the tone for the rest of the game. Guys exaggerating fouls, the ref calling it tight to keep it from getting out of hand....it made for a very choppy viewing experience. You're also 100% right about new fans. I went to games early in the season where there were rows and rows of empty seats. It's become a pretty trendy thing since we beat UW in Seattle - I saw tickets on Stubhub for the UNH game were going for 5-6 times face value at one point earlier in the week. Tickets for the Clemson game already 3-4 times face value. No surprise there. People want to see winners. Next week's game for a spot in the Final Four will be the biggest in Lorenz Field/OSU Soccer history. Demand greatly outstrips supply.
