At $750, they are a little spendy. The Traeger infomercials show they can smoke and grill ,and they can bake too because of the convection "oven' feature. Seems almost too good to be true. I'm guessing they are electric, something's got to burn those pellets. Kind of hard to tailgate with it, if that's the case. If you have one, or know of somebody who has one, what's your opinion of them? www.traegergrills.com/renegade-elite.htmlBTW, I just pulled a full rack of St. Louis style ribs off my smoker, and earlier did smoked burgers and pork chops. I like my smoker, but it's getting old and Traeger is supposed to be the Cadillac. I got my rig at Bi-Mart six or seven years ago, for about $100.

Yes, Costco member.
Do they use electricity to burn the pellets?
Albany demo starts tomorrow. I'll check it out next week, when I'm up there. Thanks for the tip.

I've owned my Traeger for about 12 years and it may be the best purchase I've ever made. I've done my Thanksgiving Turkey on it for years. Honestly, it's my "go-to" cooking tool. I've done pulled pork that makes the angels weep for joy. If you want cooking tips, just ask.

I don't have a generator, so I guess my gas smoker will have to do on those days. But, I'd love some cooking tips from you. I got a few great ones from a Q guy I met five years ago in St. Louis, that got famous thanks to Adam Richman and the Food Network.
