Being an old fart, "The Beatles" were a BIG part of my formative years. I remember VIVIDLY watching the "fab four" on the Ed Sullivan Show at my grandparents home in La Mesa, along with my brother and sister, mom and dad, ALL my uncles, aunts and cousins...... etc. It was a big deal. Our family LOVED music. I'm not sure my grandparents LOVED "I Wanna Hold Your Hand," and "She Loves You (yeah, yeah, yeah....), but us KIDDOS surely DID! Peter Jackson.... great director....spent ahelluvalong time on this thing. It may not be for EVERYONE....but after episode ONE (on Disney+), I'm in.

The beauty of The Beatles is how they transcend the passage of time. So many generations grew up loving their music. Glad to hear a good review for it. I’ll have to watch it soon.

For kids growing up today, the Beatles are a band from 50+ years ago. When I was growing up, bands from 50 years ago were pre-WW2 bands: Paul Whiteman Rudy Vallee Al Jolson Duke Ellington Glenn Miller Benny Goodman Artie Shaw I've always enjoyed and appreciated the music of Lennon, McCartney, Harrison and Starr (and George Martin) and if any kids of today are inclined to seek out this music from their grandparents' generation, then God bless them.

My son and his cousin both independently got big into the Beatles, probably influenced by a teacher. It’s fun to see. The Beatles are still loved in Japan. It’s crazy there. Every kid seems to go through their Beatles stage. Their music is used in everything. There was a store (a clothing chain) that played only Beatles music.

When my daughter was in 5th or 6th grade (she's 18 now), she was amazed that when I told her the Beatles actually played their own instruments and sang! I don't think there were a lot of pop bands 7 or 8 years ago that did, at least the ones I saw.

I, uh.....couldn't get through the third installment....yet. A lot of boring (to me) stuff. Trying to write or finalize songs. Yoko....ALWAYS at John's side...... except when she is SCREECHING to music...... GOOD GOD! That IS NOT music. I had to take a break, for awhile. I still love the Beatles. Listen to ALL their work from time to time. They GREW so quickly, from '63 to '70, musically. Really stunning (JMHO). Sometimes it's TOUGH to see people one puts on a pedestal KNOCKED down a peg or two. I KNOW some say John (RIP) was the soul of the band, but I've ALWAYS disagreed. George (RIP) was a spiritual man who wrote some GREAT songs, Ringo was a pretty decent drummer (great backbeat) with a puppy dog smile, but Paul WAS the one that drove them to greatness. Again....JMHO. slate.com/culture/2021/11/get-back-beatles-documentary-review-disney-plus.html

John and Paul heard him as the driving force of their main rival Liverpool band (Rory Storm and the Hurricanes) invited him to jam a couple times and the difference he made instantly convinced them to steal him away. And nobody ever heard a thing from Rory Storm again. Personally, I don't care about the size of your drum kit, the length of your excruciating solos or what kind of complex time signatures you can stumble through. Drumming is all about driving the band and grooving. Sounds simple enough but a lot of "virtuoso" drummers can't do it to save their sticks. End of rant/Ringo testimonial. Pretty amazing that those 4 inauspicious working-class guys from the same town accomplished all that they did.
