One of Scott's tendencies during the programs's peak years was to identify 7 or 8 players (at most) that basically played all of the important minutes, something he has gotten away from in recent years. One of the bigger games in program history -- their 2018 OT win over the Ducks -- saw Tudor and Mik play all 45, and Gulich and Katie player over 40. In the Baylor game in 2015 to get into the Final Four, Sid, Jamie and Gabby played every minute. No one worried about who Jamie's backup was, because she wasn't coming out of the game if it was close.
Obviously it takes many games to figure out the best rotation, but I wonder if (though he would never say it), Scott would prefer a smaller rotation? He won three Pac-12 titles in a row with small rotations, but was that because he perceived a wide talent gap between his starters and reserves, or is that what Scott wanted?
I wonder whether three months from now players like Corosdale, TVO, and Kampschroeder would be in a position to stay out for all 40.

Taya has played 40 in important games.
Several years ago he had to play those players major minutes and had a very short bench mostly, as you figured, the quality level had a substantial drop from the top 7 or 8. And if it weren't for Gabby that drops to 6 or 7.
Rueck has said that this year he has a bunch of starters, possibly more than he ever had. Does that mean he will always play with a long bench, I'm doubt it. Some match ups may call for a short bench. It also depends who is playing well and who maybe having a tough game.
