ESPN is reporting that 6-9 German forward has committed to the Beavers. Article doesn’t say he’s a 2022 recruit, I’m just assuming he is. Michael Rataj is “considered one of the most promising European forwards committing to the college route. He averaged 15 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.4 steals in just 22 minutes per game at the FIBA U18 European Challengers this past summer for Germany, finishing as the third-most prolific per-minute scorer and fifth in player efficiency rating (PER) at the event.”
Scouting report from the article:
“ Rataj is a skilled and versatile player who started at small forward for his national team and is used primarily on the wing for Ulm as well, despite standing 6-foot-9. He is an effective perimeter shooter who likes to ignite fast breaks pushing off the defensive glass and shows good timing and creativity finishing around the basket and creating open looks for teammates. He's an instinctual and competitive defender who shows strong awareness getting in passing lanes and guarding multiple positions.”
Looks like Beavers could have a pretty good 2022 class with two relatively tall guys with some nice skills. Not sure how many scholarships they have for the class, but I’d love to see them add a PG.

Intriguing prospect. The league he played in us some players that played US college ball - the teams are limited on number of foreign players, so mostly German. However, they US players don’t dominate the league, so looks like legit competition. Looks like at least one the players in the league spent time in the NBA G league in Tisdale. www.proballers.com/basketball/league/313/germany-pro-b-south/players
