Molina-Diaz is out for the season with a leg injury. And Djeffal is out for tonight with a foot injury. This stinks to high heaven.

No score at half. Tsiki found the wood work.

While this match was going on, interesting development up in Seattle. The match between Cal and Washington was ruled a No Contest at the 61' while the score was 1-1, due to field conditions and player safety. Look at this picture. Just imagine what Lorenz Field would be like with natural grass and that much water. A match is only official once it has reached the 70' mark. Since the match was not official, the statistics picked up (any goals, assists, saves, etc.) are nullified. Therefore, the two Husky players who picked up red cards against the Beavers, must sit out of the match against Stanford on Sunday as their suspensions do not count against Cal. This is also the second straight match for Cal to be ruled No Contest, as their match against San Diego State in Berkeley didn't even get underway due to the weather and field conditions. Haven't seen anything for a scheduled make up day. The remaining matches on the Husky schedule are 10/31 vs. Stanford, 11/4 @ UCLA, 11/7 @ San Diego St., and 11/11 @ OSU. For Cal, they only have 10/31 @ OSU, and 11/11 vs. Stanford, and perhaps a make up with San Diego State, but that may not be necessary as the Bears and Aztecs don't look to be in the hunt for a post season berth. So there is room for Cal to make another trip up to Seattle to make up for the No Contest, but that will be brutal for the Huskies to squeeze four matches within a week that would involve travel down to southern California. They may just wait to see if they have a shot of the conference title after the match with OSU, since selection day is on November 15. And if not, then don't bother making it up, and prepare for the tournament. That would be my bet.

"Opened in the fall of 1996 a block southeast of Reser Stadium, the field received a makeover during the summer of 2012, as the original sand-based surface was replaced with a new variety of spreading rye grass, the same turf that was used at the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa." It's either an extraordinarily well-maintained grass field or a very natural-looking artificial turf field. When I zoom-in on this at the lines, I'm inclined to think it's artificial. beavers360.com/soccer/

Djeffal should return, it didn't sound serious when listening to the start of the telecast against Stanford. Ann even mentioned they hope to have him back for Cal, and they didn't flash the words, "out for season" like they did for Molina-Diaz. Speaking of which, we'll just have to wait and see.

Lorenz is natural grass. The Beavers had a game cancelled by rain and wet field conditions in 2019. Lorenz was a swamp.
