I know Walton is a polarizing personality. Folks who don’t like him just don’t like him. But I thought he was at the top of his game as the “guest picker”. He even inspired Corso out of his usual stupor. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Once I heard he was going to be the guest picker I thought they should devote the entire final hour of the broadcast to him and his picks because he has been known to get a "bit" long-winded lol ... he certainly did during his final pick for the Bruins lol

I thought he was hilarious. Looked like Corso didn't know what to think about having another old dude that's as weird as him on the show. yeah his buffoonery can create good laughs. Especially when he is color commentating bball games and his main commentator will “wtf did you just say?”.

Walton is a buffoon no matter how you stack it. Because seriousness and dignity is so essential in our televised entertainment games.

If only the disparaging poster was half the "buffoon" he'd not be so jealous. What a strange hill to take a stand. He's just a commentator that enjoys his work. Completely harmless and actually nice to hear such positive vibes. Ha... guess that may the issue, positivity!?

My favorite commentator to work with Walton was Steve Jones. I like when he works with Ted Robinson - a total pro WITH a sense of humor. When Walton works with an uptight stick-up-his-ass stiff like Dave Pasch, he tends to double down on his schtick when Pasch reprimands him for his levity.

One of the reason that I find watching foreign commentators so refreshing is that they know that they are glorified entertainers. American sportscasters tend to be so pretentious, condescending and boring in comparison. Now, you can hate Bill Walton. He might not be your brand of sportscaster, but I would posit that American Sports needs more people like Bill Walton.

The way I remember it Bill would shy away from the media when he was a Trailblazer. We figured it was because he had a bit of a speech impediment.
He has come a long way since those early days!
I now actually enjoy his histrionics in small doses.

I love Bill Walton both has a player and commentator. He is a very intelligent and knows his stuff. He is unique and totally entertaining and is his own person. Player wise in my opinion was the best center in the history of the game

Player wise in my opinion was the best center in the history of the game I like him also. When we talk about "best" I think you need to differentiate between "career value" and "peak value". Regarding the career, he wasn't much. He never played enough. If you take the about 100 games from November 1976 to March 1978, he may of been the best player, period. The numbers are not mind boggling, but the wins are. And Maurice Lucas was not a Scotty Pippen or Dwayne Wade.
