Wow! Figured he was too old! Tony Eason. Probably best known for being selected 12 spots in front of Dan Marino in '83.

1983 draft.
One of the best ever, and not just because of the 6 first round QBs taken. All 5 AFC East teams drafted a rookie QB. Elway forced a trade, and Kelly played for the USFL Houston Gamblers before joining the Bills.
1- Elway 2- Dickerson 3- Curt Warner 7- Todd Blackledge 9- Bruce Matthews 14- Jim Kelly 15- Tony Eason 24- Ken O'Brien 27- Dan Marino 28- Darrell Green
and plenty of other guys taken in later rounds who turned out pretty good. Richard Dent, Henry Ellard, Roger Craig, and Karl Mecklenberg.

And this led to me, a die-hard Kansas City Chiefs fan, to endure years, if not decades of angst and misery, knowing the Chiefs could have drafted Dan Marino or Jim Kelly, hell even Eason and O'Brien instead of Todd Blackledge. Sigh....

Sigh.... Yeah, Blackledge was the real dud in that draft. Couldn’t beat out the great Bill Kenney.

I have two acquaintances from South Dakota, one Rapid City and the other Brookings. Both love the Chiefs. The guy from Brookings also likes the Vikings and the other guy follows the Broncos. But KC was clearly #1.
