They allow spectators to CFB spring games, NBA pre-season, MLB spring camp, past MBB exhibition games, etc. Why pass up an opportunity to promote the sport/team, make some revenue, generate excitement?

At the very least you'd think they could let fans watch a live stream or something like that.. but I guess they are a "secret" and we are not supposed to know about them lol

I tell ya, it’s enough to drive a fan CRAZY 😜

Probably a work out the issues kind of thing…. You know, before they play in front of everyone. Like, a fancy version of an intersquad game.

This format enables coaches to work on different combinations, defenses, offenses, etc., without having to worry about winning or losing, so some over-the-top fans don't go batsh*t crazy about the results of a practice.
Sort of like what happened here when we lost a completely meaningless exhibition game to WOU.

Sort of like what happened here when we lost a completely meaningless exhibition game to WOU. Well, as I attended that game and most every season, no one was going more "batsh*t" than WT. When you suit up and keep score it's not "meaningless". Now fans are going to be fans, practice, exhibition, counter.

I was there too. Yes, he was upset. But he also realized it was a meaningless exhibition. It did not impact our season record. He moved on quickly. Many fans didn't. It still gets mentioned here on occasion by some posters when they want to take a shot at WT.
Exhibitions have value for learning and teaching, but as far as winning and losing go, they are meaningless. Preseason football games don't matter. Spring training games don't matter. That's why they are not included in team's records. You won't hear anything about the World Series champion's Grapefruit or Cactus league record.

I was in Monmouth the day after that game, don't tell me it meant nothing to them Wolves
