I hope they can bring him to justice. Needless to say, those are very serious charges. And running from the law does not reflect well on his potential innocence.

He was not running from the law because he was not indicted until earlier this month. If there were no warrants out for his arrest, which there weren't, he was not running from the law. You can't run from the law if the law is not after you.

It the ones that run when no one is chasing them that you have to watch out for.

So he was not a fugitive? Not until he was indicted and a warrant was issued for his arrest. So the article was in error. “Tyler’s next court date is set for Nov. 4, where the fugitive charges will be discussed. According to court documents, the charges in Virginia were two counts of forcible sodomy, two counts of taking indecent liberties with children and one count of aggravated sexual battery, but the documents do not indicate when the charges occurred.”Fugitive. www.dictionary.com/browse/fugitivenoun a person who is fleeing, as from prosecution, intolerable circumstances, etc.; a runaway: a fugitive from justice; a fugitive from a dictatorial regime.

As I said, he was not a fugitive from the law until he was indicted and a warrant was issued for his arrest. So, ONCE THAT HAPPENED, he became a fugitive. Your point in your first post on this subject said, "And running from the law does not reflect well on his potential innocence." At the time he left Virginia more than 10 years ago, he was not running from the law, because he had not been indicted and no warrants had been issued for his arrest.

So the Barometer article was incorrect.

There are quite a few of us on campus that have been following his arrest prior to any of the press coverage. His arrest was noted on the Benton County Jail Inmate Detail web page and shared among many. He was listed as a fugitive from the state of Virginia on that page - this is where the media got the information.
The reason so many were following was that this guy was about as popular as F. King Alexander around here and we are glad to see him gone. Lots of nodding of approval for his arrest and our sympathies to the victims.
