D1 Baseball has profiled the top-50 JC transfers they think will make the biggest impact in the 2022 season. One pitcher that has been getting a lot of attention from scouts and the baseball websites, is former Beaver Andrew Walling. Andrew had a strong prep season at R.A. Long HS in Longview, and a good summer on the travel team circuit following his Junior year in 2017. He had an impressive week with the Royals team during the Area Code games in the summer of '17. He missed his entire Senior year recovering from Tommy John surgery in the fall of 2017 and entered OSU with the class of 2018. He pitched sparingly in 2019 for Coaches Pat Bailey and Nate Yeskie, then transferred to Eastern Oklahoma State C.C. after the one year at OSU.
D1 Baseball rates him as the 4th best Junior College transfer for 2022 - he will pitch for Mississippi State in the SEC. He was frequently mentioned in last summer's draft conversation but had a spendy price tag and chose to continue his college baseball career.
From D1 Baseball:
"Number 4. Andrew Walling, LHP, Eastern Oklahoma State / Mississippi State– Walling attended Oregon State as a freshman before transferring to Eastern Oklahoma State as a sophomore last season. The lefty was the No. 4 JUCO draft prospect by Prep Baseball Report heading into the 2021 Draft, but priced himself out and found his way to Starkville. Up to 96 already this fall (he’s touched 98 in the past) Walling also has a swing/miss slider. He’s likely to start for the Bulldogs or be a lock down back end arm."
