I assume that means Jake Luton will be elevated from the practice squad to the active roster.

Yep I remember his name being brought up as the #3 QB right behind Geno Smith so yeah he is going to get the call up with Wilson being out for an extended period.

Although Geno looked pretty good - I would love to see Jake get a shot! Don't
think the Seahawks were going very far this year regardless. Their defense is really suspect.

I keep checking the Seahawks transactions, and they haven't yet placed Wilson on IR or brought Jake to the active roster. The only QB moves so far is signing QB Danny Etling to the practice squad - although I still expect Wilson to IR/Luton to active to be the move. The initial reports on Wilson were 6 weeks, and Seattle has no other QB on the active roster beside Geno, and I can't imagine they'd go with just one healthy QB for a real game.

I have to believe that HE believes he'll be back before the 3 weeks that would be required for going on IR, and they're just allowing him the time to try to convince them that he can do that. So they COULD keep Wilson on the active roster, bring Luton up from the practice squad and cut someone else off the 53-man. Still would seem like a waste of a roster spot for a guy who doesn't look like he will miss fewer than 3 games. |

Crazy! I really hope that Wilson sticking it out like that doesn't take away from the preparation for someone who *might* actually play, but that's Wilson for you. I remember a couple years ago when Wilson REALLY looked like he got his bell rung - he runs into the tent, stays there for about 5 seconds, and was out on the field again after maaaaybe missing 1 or 2 plays. |
