UCSB-OK State was a classic pitching duel. One bad inning was all it took to lose this one. Last time a guy pitched a 1-0 shutout at Omaha, I think, was someone named Boyd, in 2013.
Checketts guys will have to beat Miami early on Monday. The Canes haven't looked all the tough to me, in the games that I have watched. They have one guy who is a total jerk, the one who has done the late bat toss when he hit HR's in the S-R, and then taunted the catcher before he stepped on the plate. That guy is a showboat.
Zona keeps on getting W's, with a first year coach. Pretty amazing. They took advantage of a pitcher who couldn't find the strike zone in the first inning. If one guy hadn't blown thru the stop sign the 3rd base coach gave him, they might have hung more than three runs on them that inning.
Go Wildcats, Go Gaucho's!

The last guy to pitch a 1-0 complete game shutout in Omaha was indeed Boyd. Pac-12's third best team beats the cream of the ACC crop. Miami had an easy go of it in the Super Regionals, beating up on Boston College, who finished with a losing record in ACC play. Oklahoma State will be a bigger test for Arizona, since they actually earned their way to Omaha. Go Wildcats! Go Gauchos!
