Miss Ionescu certainly has a healthy ego, I'll say that for her. Quote from the recent Oregonian article below:
"I wanted to be the piece, not a piece in a program. Both Oregon and Washington help me with that goal. At other schools I was just 'a piece', and they would be fine if I didn't go there because they would have enough tools to still be able to win. Both of those schools [u0 and UW] make me feel like I'm really needed"
I hope her future teammates understand - Sabrina is THE straw that stirs the drink. You other gals are just supporting actresses. Are we clear?
Best of luck to her. And I think she's 100% correct. OSU will be fine without her.

Now we know why a UCONN, TN, Stanford, OSU etc were not in the mix here at the end. Hard to have a Championship caliber team when one player wants to be THE CHAMPION.

As I mentioned long ago... she does not deserved to part of our program. Some on here kept defending her... I hope that quote makes it clear why some of us were actually happy she did not show up. Not even a multiple college POY winner talks like that.
Wonder how long she'll be around if UW doesn't go deep into the tourney. I mean they had a great year this year, no guarantee they go that deep every year!!!

I have my crow stewing in the crockpot now.
I certainly gave the young lady more benefit of the doubt than she deserved in my earlier post, and at this point I am happy she will not be at OSU. As good as her skills may be, she is too much of a manipulator for my liking. She's picking a college--not making a life and death decision.
So to all of you who said she was being a drama queen, a sufferer of the lesser known variety of ADD (if she doesn't get enough attention, she is in disorder), I will say you were (and still are) right and I was wrong.
For her, it seems appropriate that the accent is on the 'I' in Ionescu.
With all this diatribe said, I am looking forward to seeing our incoming class this fall, and GO BEAVERS!

No "eating" necessary... we all spout opinions... and typically not to be right or wrong. Just happy she chose the "right" school for her particular mentality.

She definitely has a huge ego to say something like that. I linked an article awhile ago. From it I got the impression that Rueck had stopped recruiting her and didn't want her on the team. Now I know why. That quote says it all. That is the type of player that will eat away at a team. OS definitely doesn't need a me player.

Word on the street is that she's going to decide just before tip off of the season opener for TBD school and then make a grand entrance on horseback unicorn to center court. It's going to be great, the crowd will go wild and do the wave, chanting her name and such. At halftime of game 1 they will retire her number and also unveil the statue.
They will then dine on the finest meats and cheeses in all the land.

The best player in the state was also told to shove it. But that was a falling out between her and an assistant who has now left. Maybe she will change her mind.

Some of you boys are acting like the pimply nerd that got turned down for the big dance by the school prom queen. Geez, we've got a national player of the year -- one who beat out the prom queen -- coming to play. We're covered. We got our girl(s).

I know it has been all you could do to resist posting in this thread since it started. You seem to be the only butthurt one (Hay guize can we all just lay off her, please?). Comical. It's called a chill pill. Take one ... or ten.

I can say with absolute certainty that nobody on Coach Rueck's staff past or present ever told any recruit to "shove it". Literally OR figuratively.
