Pretty sure this will be Barnard's last year. Say what you will about Barnes but he's had no problem replacing underperforming, long-term coaches.
Softball better be on alert too. Andy Jarvis's wife is doing quite well as the head coach at UNLV, he's on staff and probably they would jump at the chance to return to OSU. She played at Arizona and is really familiar with the Pac-12.

If a new coach can't recruit more effectively than the current one then it's just change for change's sake.

If Barnes is happy with softball consistently finishing 7th, 8th or 9th in an 9-team league, not going to NCAAs and drawing 200 fans a game, then I guess Berg has a lifetime deal.

So uh, they played at o the other night. I won't mention the score. uo’s current coach, Matt Ulmer, interviewed for the OSU job when Terry Liskevych retired, even though he knew it was already a given that Barnard was getting the job. This was a Todd Stansbury hire.

Lost 0-3 to Mighty Utah?. Thinking they no longer listen to this coach. Utah is pretty good. NCAAs in 2020, Sweet 16 in 2019, NCAA 2nd round in 2018, Sweet 16 in 2017, NCAAs in 2016, etc. They are accomplishing what we should be accomplishing, on a regular basis. The second part of your post may be true.

I think it’s time to change coaches here.

The team hasn’t won a single set, not a match but a mere set, since their victory over the mighty Southern Illinois-Edwardsville Cougars three weeks ago. That is 15 straight sets lost.

It seems to me that volleyball has had a LONG history of weird coach stuff.
When I was in school in the early 90's, I seem to recall a coach getting fired for - perhaps inappropriate relationships with players?
Have to ask Wilky if he has those details buried in his archives.

Guy Enriques. Had a relationship with the team's best player, left over from club days. Julie Leamon? Anyhow they got married, moved to Hawaii and had three or four kids and were living happily ever after the last I heard.

That is 15 straight sets lost. 18 straight 0-4 in conference. 0-12 in sets. 16 matches left. Any guesses on how many sets we might manage to win over those 16 games. I would think an average of less than one per match would be a safe bet. <16.

The school cares enough to have a court specifically designed for volleyball. The only line on the court are for volleyball. They end up playing on the basketball court a time or two a year when volleyball plays right after a basketball game and they don't have enough time to bring their court out. There aren't many schools out there that do it.
IIRC, the court is not wood but a rubberized surface. It turns out that it is easier on their knees and ankles. Apparently it is most noticeable towards the end of the season.
