The Oregon State 2021 baseball recruits are already hard at work on the field and in the practice faciities on the OSU campus. The nation's 6th ranked class is throwing, running, drilling, hitting. pitching and taking 100 balls a day off coach Barney's fungo. They are looking at film, meeting with coaches and getting to know one another.
In less than 60 days, 15 known members of Oregon State's 2022 class will sign their national letters of intent and prepare to play their final prep season before heading off to OSU and become then newest members of the vaunted Beaver baseball program. The Beaver coaching staff has about 90 days to add the finishing touches to this class with the addition of any choice walk-ons or Junior College transfers. The 2022 class has 14 nationally ranked prospects, an unusual number for any PAC-12 team. The class is loaded with pitching, eight in total. The class has some balance, with 1 catcher, 3 infielders and 3 outfielders. Two of the pitchers are accomplished shortstops as well.
Here is a breakdown of the 15 currently committed players and their national Top-500 rankings. Remember, the MLB draft consumes a large portion of the Top-150 of these rankings. For example; Gough and Turley are being heavily scouted at every game.
