Oregon State's first commit in the Class of 2025 was Catcher Xavier Neyens from Conway, Washington. Xavier is now 6-1, 176 and a freshman at Mt. Vernon High School. In scouting venacular, he has "helium" - shooting up the charts and rankings.
He is a head-turner for scouts because he hits left handed and with considerable power for his age. He is a + defensive catcher with huge catch and throw skills. Excells at all facets of the game - a "Tool Shed" recruit for the mighty Beavers.
Xavier Neyens is the 8th best prospect in his class nationally and climbing according to Rawlings=Perfect Game.

As we rolled through the summer and fall competition, he never let up. The Puyallup shortstop (Class of '25) also had a great summer - he's climbing the rankings. Three super recruits, all from Washington.
Meggs must be having nightmares.

I love it! We have really mined Washington for baseball talent over the years.....no wonder Meggs always seems salty! When we sent em home from Omaha it was so satisfying......
It's nice to have the upper hand against u dub in recruiting.....not something that's common for our school in general....gotta keep I rollin!

If you see him at the plate, he looks more like a high school Senior than a high school freshman. A left handed hitting catcher that can absolutely crush it. The best part? Wait for it. . . . . .
He has chosen to wear number 35. The comparisons will be inevitable.
